Lift Pit Waterproofing
Stop groundwater seeping into lift pits before it damages the lift equipment.
Overview
A lift pit sits below ground level, so in much of Chennai it sits in or near the water table. When the monsoon raises groundwater, water pushes through cracks, joints and pipe entries and collects at the bottom of the pit.
Standing water in a lift pit corrodes the buffers, rails and electrical fittings at the bottom of the shaft, and lift service teams will often flag it during maintenance. Pumping it out only buys time: the water comes back with the next rain.
Because the pit is under water pressure from outside, the treatment has to work from the inside. We stop active leaks with injection grouting, seal construction joints and pipe entries, and then apply a coating suited to wet, below-ground concrete. Your lift maintenance company should isolate the lift before work starts.

Questions, answered.
Can a lift pit be waterproofed without digging outside?+
Usually, yes. Most lift pits can only be reached from inside, so the system is chosen to resist water pressure from behind. We confirm the approach after inspecting the pit.
Does the lift need to be shut down?+
Yes, while we work in the pit. Your lift maintenance company isolates the lift and parks the car safely. We coordinate the timing with your association or facility manager.
